Measurement setup
Make the measurement book match the way you cut.
Standard fields are a starting point. Custom fields let each tailor keep the names, order, and shorthand that make sense for their garments and fitting method.
Start with a small, consistent set
MyTailorBook includes common fields such as chest, waist, hip, shoulder, sleeve, and length. Add only the extra fields you use often. A short, consistent list is easier to complete correctly than a crowded form.
Useful custom-field examples
- Armhole, round sleeve, cuff, and bicep for tops and dresses.
- Neck depth, blouse length, under-bust, and shoulder-to-bust for fitted garments.
- Thigh, knee, rise, inseam, outseam, and ankle for trousers.
- Cap or head size, agbada length, and other fields used by your shop.
- Fit notes such as fitted, regular, loose, or allowance agreed with the customer.
Use one name for one measurement
If one person writes “body length” and another writes “full length,” decide whether they mean the same point. Consistent labels reduce confusion during repeat fittings and make shared profiles easier to read.
Keep units visible
Choose inches or centimetres in Settings. MyTailorBook displays the selected unit beside measurement inputs so a number is never separated from the scale used to take it.
